One of our initial areas of expertise, we have been working in commercial real estate for more than 25 years. In the early 1980s we represented numerous clients in the purchase and sale of apartment buildings. With interest rates at record high levels, we were involved with the financing tools of the day, specifically the installment land contract. We were also involved in litigation spawned by this financing tool.

Partially as a result, we have always been involved in real estate litigation as well as the transactional aspect of commercial real estate. We have litigated the effectiveness of due on sale clauses, construction defects, homeowner association covenant enforcement, mechanics lien disputes, real estate foreclosure, lien priority, title insurance coverage, recording act constructive notice, developer liability, landowner liability, evictions, and breach of the contract to purchase and sell.
